In Haryana, the number of medical colleges has doubled over the last eight years, and there are currently 1,735 MBBS seats, up from 700 in 2014.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar led state government is planning to raise the number of MBBS seats to 3,035 by 2025. Additionally, “This has become possible because of the regulatory reforms brought in by Chief Minister since 2014. Haryana has witnessed a new era of growth in the health sector during this period,” according to an official spokesperson.
At Kutel in Karnal, the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya University of Health Sciences is being developed and will shortly become functional.
Additionally, nine medical colleges are being built. These include the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College in Chhayansa (Faridabad), the Government Medical College and Hospital in Koriyawas (Narnaul), the Government Medical College at Kaithal, the Government Medical College at Sirsa, the Government Medical College at Yamunanagar, and the Government Medical College at Gurugram.
