Large Crowds Visit J&K's Stall at TTF-2023 in Kolkata

At the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF)-2023 in Kolkata, the J&K display is attracting sizable crowds of tourists who are interested in the travel-related goods and services that the UT of Jammu and Kashmir is providing. The three-day travel festival is attended by the J&K Tourism Department as the featured State/UT.

Babul Supriyo, the minister of tourism and information technology for West Bengal, and Riazul Islam, the counsellor at the deputy high commission for Bangladesh in Kolkata, were two notables who visited at the J&K stall. Pranay Poddar, the counsel general of the Kenyan consulate in Kolkata, and Ram Krishan Jaiswal, the Maldives consul in Kolkata, both paid a visit to the J&K stalls and appreciated the picturesque areas and natural beauty of Jammu & Kashmir.

The three-day fair brings together major media figures, business executives, and representatives of the whole travel sector from across the Eastern United States, particularly West Bengal. A total of 400 domestic exhibitors from across the nation as well as numerous international exhibitors from South Africa and Thailand are taking part in the top business platform. Tourist organisations, State/UT government tourism offices, tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, resorts, adventure tourism providers, airlines, car rental agencies, railroads, coach providers, and others are among the exhibitors.

The J&K Tourism Department has made suitable accommodations for the fair's huge contingent of tour guides and hotel owners from J&K.

The J&K Government is represented at the exhibition by Dr. Des Raj Bhagat (CEO of the Bani Basohli Development Authority), as well as Ahsanul Haq Chishti (Deputy Director of Tourism in Kashmir), Javed Ahmad (Assistant Director of Tourism in Gulmarg) and Arif Ahmad Lone (Assistant Director of Tourism in Batote). The officers gave the visitors an overview of the current state of tourism in J&K as well as the new destinations and adventure tourism activities that the agency has recently introduced in 75 of those locations.
