In a remarkable display of interfaith harmony and religious tolerance, Arab ministers and sheikhs from Abu Dhabi and Dubai visited the BAPS Hindu Mandir during the holy month of Ramadan. In an unprecedented gesture, they broke their fast within the temple premises and partook in prasad, a ceremonial Hindu offering.

The visit comes at a time when the UAE continues to solidify its reputation as a beacon of multicultural coexistence. The BAPS Hindu Mandir, inaugurated in February 2024 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is the first traditional Hindu stone temple in the Middle East. The temple's establishment signifies the UAE’s commitment to fostering religious inclusivity and mutual respect among diverse communities.

Dignitaries from Abu Dhabi and Dubai, including key ministers and royal family members, engaged in discussions with temple representatives, emphasizing the importance of unity and respect for all faiths. They also commended the efforts of the Indian diaspora in strengthening cultural and economic ties between India and the UAE.

During the visit, the Arab leaders observed the temple’s intricate architecture and participated in a guided tour highlighting its significance. The breaking of the Ramadan fast in the temple with prasad was widely appreciated as a symbolic act of brotherhood between Hindu and Muslim communities.

The UAE has long been a champion of interfaith dialogue, with leaders actively promoting messages of peace, tolerance, and understanding. This historic event further underscores the country’s vision of religious harmony and global unity.
